 CRAFT BUSINESS TIPS

craftmama-logo.pngCraftMama is HoopMama's sister site. It has a different vision than HoopMama in regards that it's focus is dedicated to helping you grow your craft business and all that entails. It's in it's beginning stages but has many plans to grow to be the #1 resource for craft business owners! One of the awesome features is the vendor directory where you can shop for trusted vendors for all of your crafting needs!

SAVE MONEY WHEN BUYING CRAFTS

ebates.pngEbates is my absolute favorite place get FREE cash back when buying from placings like Joann Fabrics, Etsy, Hobby Lobby, Amazon and even everyday places like Target, WalMart, Kohls, and so on! You just visit Ebates before shopping, click on the store you want to shop at, and then shop as normal! Ebates makes a commission from you using their links, so they pass along some of that commission to you! Plus when you use my link to sign up, you will receive a $10 cash back when you make your first purchase!

amazon-prime.pngAmazon Prime has been a life saver for me! I didn't ever think I would use it in my crafting life but you can get stabilizers, shirt blanks from Kavio, those adorable ruffle raglans that everyone loves, Siser Easyweed Vinyl, and so much more! In fact, I even did a blog post on the 10 Items I Buy From Amazon to give you an idea of how often I use my Prime! Use my link and get a 30 day free trial! It's truly been awesome and I never even thought I would use it that much... boy was I wrong!

EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE & TRAINING

embilliance-essentials.jpgNothing can top Embrilliance for Embroidery software. If you need basic ability to merge your own designs from pre-digitized designs Embrilliance Essentials is wonderful! Or you can take it up a notch and add Enthusiast for more options. If you want to digitize your own designs from scratch, Stitch Artist is excellent! It comes in 3 levels so once you master each level you can add the next! It makes it very budget friendly this way! Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 can all be found on Amazon, with an embroidery stabilizer bundle, too!

CUTTING MACHINE TIPS & TUTORIALS

silhouette-school-presents.pngSilhouette School - The Ultimate Silhouette Guide Series is by far the best series of e-book tutorials for your Silhouette cutting machine. Melissa from Silhouette School Blog has everything from beginners tips to print and cut to even designing!

cutting-for-business.png Cutting For Business is another excellent resource full of wonderful tips and tutorials for growing your cutting business. Christine's blog is a FABULOUS resource for crafters! Whether you own a Cricut or Silhouette, she has e-books to grow your cutting business and even e-books to help you grow your reach on Pinterest and Instagram! One of my favorites is the 15 Parties To Host With Your Silhouette Or Cricut. Super cool ideas!

 CUTTING MACHINE SOFTWARE

scal-logo.gif

If you own a Silhouette machine, any designs you create in their software can only be saved as .studio files. The ability to save as SVG is HUGE since move cutting machines accept that format! So if you think you may either 1. want to upgrade/change machines out one day, or 2. think you may ever want to sell your own designs in SVG format. Then Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) is a wonderful software. It used to integrate with Cricut, but it does not anymore. Inkscape, Corel Draw, and Adobe Illustrator are other graphics programs where you can save to SVG. While Inkscape is free, the others can get a little more costly so SCAL is a great alternative!

FAVORITE FONT WEBSITES

*This has to be my favorite section*

the-hungry-jpeg-logo.png

The Hungry Jpeg is my #1 go to place for fonts! The oh so popular Pinsetter font by Missy Meyers can be found here as well has SO many other great bundles, $1 deals, and even freebies! You can also explore wonderful things such as SVG and Embroidery Designs, Clipart, and Digital Paper! PLUS - Use HOOPMAMA20 on any active featured bundle for 20% off!

mighty-deals.pngMighty Deals is another awesome place for font bundles, texture bundles, Photoshop presets, logo design and so much more! They're bundles are only available for a limited time and when they expire, they're gone. Fair warning... you may spend all your money here.

font-bundles.png

Font Bundles is another great place to grab some fonts! They periodically to $1 flash sales on some GREAT fonts, too! So make sure to find them on Facebook to stay in the loop! You can also share their fonts and earn a credit to apply towards future font purchases!

creative-market-logo.png

Creative Market is fantastic, too! They do 6 weekly freebies and not just for fonts. They do blog templates, Ipad pencil brushes, stock photos and more!

creative-fabrica.png

Creative Fabrica is probably a very well-hidden crafter's secret. It is a subscription service for fonts! For $19 a month you can access over 2100 premium fonts! My sister site, CraftMama, did a review of Creative Fabrica and breaks down all the cool features. You can read that here!

WEBSITE PLATFORMS

One thing I will say 500 times is that if you are crafting as a business, you need a website! In fact, I say it a LOT and go into a lot of depth on it in this post right here.
